Get answers to common questions about Gentlemen’s Pecks.
Most Gentlemen’s Pecks appointments last 20–35 minutes, including a brief consultation and pre-wax prep. Timing varies by hair density and client comfort. First-time clients should allow extra time for discussion and aftercare guidance.
Some discomfort is normal, but our technicians use gentle techniques, quality wax, and soothing pre- and post-wax care to minimize pain. Exfoliating before appointment and avoiding caffeine can help. We also offer numbing options on request.
For best results, arrive with hair about quarter-inch long (7–10 days of growth), avoid shaving or waxing beforehand, skip heavy exercise and sun exposure 24 hours prior, and shower before your appointment. Inform us of medications or skin sensitivities.
Most clients return every 4–8 weeks depending on hair growth and desired look. Over time, waxing can slow regrowth and make intervals longer. We'll recommend a personalized schedule during your visit based on hair texture and your maintenance preferences.
We advise against shaving between sessions because shaving cuts hair at the surface, which prevents wax from gripping properly. If hair is too short, wait until it regrows to the recommended length or discuss trimming options with your technician.
Avoid hot showers, intense exercise, and sun exposure for 24–48 hours. Use gentle, fragrance-free moisturizers and antiseptic sprays as recommended. Exfoliate lightly after 48–72 hours to prevent ingrown hairs. Contact us if you experience prolonged redness or irritation.
